Hong Kong Film Festival On Tour 2023

Season

Please note : this season finished in March 2023

The Hong Kong Film Festival (running nationally Sat 18 - Fri 31 March) aims to shine an international spotlight on a new wave of cinema from Hong Kong and the Hong Kong diaspora in the UK, who blossomed during a contemporary era of drastic transformation.

This year, the festival will be screening three feature films from directors based in Hong Kong, a series of shorts investigating the subject of Post-Apocalyptic Hong Kong, plus a feature film about the struggle of the people of Myanmar against the current military dictatorship.

Through this new wave of Hong Kong cinema, the Festival strives to promote cultural interactions and spark exchanges between Hong Kong communities and the world. Building on our ever-changing social context and rich cultural heritage, it is time to reflect on the city’s enchanting, complex and challenging duality from a fresh perspective.
